The States Assembly’s Scrutiny Review Panel was tasked with exploring whether there is a gender pay gap in Jersey.

4insight was commissioned by the panel to provide a deep understanding of the experiences and views on any gender pay gaps and the wider associated issues.

We explored whether islanders perceived there to be a gender pay gap in Jersey, identifying any specific sectors/segments in both the public and private sectors.

The research recognised wider associated issues and sociological factors with any gender pay gaps.

We identified if there are any barriers for women and whether any measures were being taken to promote more equal and inclusive workforce environments.

This research provided insights to help with the Panel’s report which was published 30th June 2019. The report showed that the difference in the average (median) pay between all men and women in the workforce is 18.3%.
